Nuernberger brats and homegrown cabbage and leeks with bacon

Been an Aussie I have never heard of Nuernberger brats, it sounds intriguing.

I hadn't heard of them either, before marrying my husband who grew up in Germany. He's introduced me to a lot of wonderful German foods. Such an under appreciated cuisine. They are a skinnier version of a bratwurst, and they are covered in some sort of dried herb- maybe oregano. In any case, I like them much, much better than regular brats. We get them at Edelweiss Deli in Portland, Oregon.
