Roast Beef with mashed potatoes and gravy, salad with homegrown onions, and homegrown parsnips

Unfortunately, I couldn't take a good picture of it.

I had a quart of whole milk yogurt that was threatening to go bad on me, so I turned it into cheese...

...which I subsequently turned into cheesecake....

...which is a much better fate for a quart of yogurt than getting tossed down the sink.

Paula, that cheesecake looks amazing. A much, MUCH better fate for the cheese than going down the drain! I'm very impressed

Ok, how did you turn yogurt into cheese? I would really love to know how to do it.
We are having beef roast with mashed potatoes tonight as well. I make mine in the crockpot with lots of onion and mushrooms, shred the beef and dip it and the gravy out over the mashed potatoes. So good!

Ah! The yogurt cheese thing: you just put a colander over a shallow dish, and then line the colander with a couple layers of cheese cloth, and then dump the yogurt into the cheese cloth and let it drain until it doesn't drip anymore.

I just mixed the resulting cheese, which is quite tart, with a half cup of sugar, two eggs, and a half teaspoon of vanilla and poured it into a pressed shell (I made a kind of shortbread with almond flour, a little wheat flour, sugar, melted butter and almond extract) and baked it at 350F for a little over an hour.

Oh, yum! Thanks for posting how you do this. One day I would love to start making some of my own cheese. We are big cheese eaters here. Goes along with all that wine I suppose!
