Starving Challenge, 02Jan2011

Last night I made us a pot roast, for which the onions and carrots in the mire poix came from the garden.

I picked, washed, and chopped 36 cups of mirepoix last fall and then bagged, blanched and froze them all. The smell that rises out of a pan every time I use it is a powerful winter-beater.

Peter- I'll bet! That smell could also be the smell of accomplishment!
