First One

I don't care that today's high is only thirty-eight, tomorrow's is thirty-six, and they're predicting snow on the valley floor- the first snow this winter.

Spring is on its way. You wanna know how I know?

Asparagus; that's how!

Yay! How exciting! (the asparagus, not the snow).

It has been snowing at the house since I left in the dark this morning. I really hope the valley doesn't get measurable snow until after I get off 205 this afternoon. Yuck.

I can see your banner picture. Now you know what you've made happen? I am going to have to run out to the garden and check my asparagus. It's cold out, gee whiz! We might get snow too. I am excited, since living on the Oregon coast, we rarely see it!

I hope for your sake Rae, that it doesn't too. My guess is that it won't start until this evening (when I can't see it). Commuting in snow is no picnic.

I futzed with the banner so it would show up again. It was weird that it disappeared, because I hadn't done anything. But I figured out the shrink-to-fit feature, so now it's better! Where on the coast are you? My husband has family just outside of Yachats. I hope you guys get some snow just for kicks! I mean after everybody's snug at home.

Thanks, Bianca! It is exciting. This is the second year for the asparagus, and I know I'm not supposed to cut any until the third year, but they were pretty thick last year and I might take enough for one meal, just one. Just 'cause I can't wait!

Oh, man! I am so eager for my asparagus to come up this year that I have to keep myself from checking every single day, or I'll go crazy. This is the year when we can finally take a full harvest. I LURVE asparagus. I'm putting 25 more plants in this year too. I expect ours might start to show in another three weeks or so.
