Homegrown cabbage and onions in sauerkraut

....with sausages and broccoli...and homemade beer....and Streuselkuchen for dessert.

I would love to see pictures and recipes :) I do make my own sauerkraut though. Have a batch fermenting right now.

Ah Becky- I didn't take pictures, nor did I use recipes. I can tell you that I browned three slices of cut up bacon, then sauteed the onion with it 'til they were translucent, then added a tablespoon or so of flour over the bacon and mixed that up, then added a good dash of Penzey's Bavarian seasoning mix, then the rinsed sauerkraut and a couple sloshes of white wine and some water and a dessert spoonful of chicken bouillon. I stirred the whole thing together, then stuck the lid on and turned the heat down as far as it would go. The sausages were thrown on top of the sauerkraut and steamed as long as it took them to heat up. This is generally how I cook, so that is what I can do for a recipe!
