I think this is so cool. Your glasses are the opposite of polyester clothes and high heel shoes. Your glasses are all about function and competence and an appetite for interesting projects. Woo hoo is right!

I need those. I pulled a chunk of sod out of the ground and the dirt exploded and got in my eyes. I had to put in a new pair of contacts. My wife said, " You are the most disaster prone person I know."

I need me some nifty goggles, too!

Stylin' they are. I could have gotten the really dorky pair, but they didn't come with side protection, which I could have added, but these came with side protection for the same price as the dorky pair with added side protection, so I got these. Plus, they also have a really cushy piece across the top which keeps little stuff and sweat out of your eyes. Not that I sweat.

Horses sweat, men perspire, women glow. I glow.

Christian- If you wear contacts, you may a well save yourself a lot lof money and buy a pair of regular, non-prescription safety glasses at some place like Home Depot for around five bucks. These were $184, and that's with our fancy group eye care insurance.

Try to find something with as much coverage around your eye as possible, which I mean something that hugs your face.

But I give. What kind of crazy stuff are you doing that you need this kinda protection?!!

My little furniture projects for one thing. I was making do with a pair of cheaters under my regular safety glasses but found myself working upside down a lot (it's easier than crouching and a lot easier on my knees) and my cheater/safety glasses combo wouldn't stay on my face, so it was time.

I also wear safety glasses when I'm splitting kindling. Or around anything I think can give me a nasty surprise.

Your eyesight is just not something to mess around with.

I really like the hat and safety glasses combo. Safety glasses are a must. You can't put a price on your eyesight. One of our underkeepers just has the lens in his right eye replaced because he was using a weed wacker and it kicked back a stone. He's only 25 yrs old. He's got safety gear now.

You are absolutely right, Jen. I make Steve wear safety goggles when he's just mowing the lawn- you never know when something's going to kick up.
