Homegrown asparagus under Westphalian ham and Swiss cheese

...and arugula and chive buds in salad.  We also had an apple galette for dessert, but nothing homegrown in that.  Maybe someday.

Yes we are! I am now of the opinion that everyone who loves asparagus and has the space to dedicate to a bed should definitely plant some.

Huge difference in the taste between what you buy in the store (which usually comes all the way from Mexico) and cutting it a little before peeling and cooking it. And eating it!

I'm really glad that I planted it, and when the season is over, I'll look forward to next spring!
